Hubbard's Hounds Dog Rescue
Application to Adopt
PO Box 113, Homer, NY 13077
susan@hubbardshounds.com
Giving dogs a second chance at life... One dog at a time!
1. Fill out the application form below and hit SUBMIT. Once we receive your application, if the dog does not have another pending adoption,
we will reply back with an adoption donation amount. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION!

2. If you want to continue with the adoption process you MUST reply back to us within 48 hours or we move on. Our donations range from
$100-$300 depending on the age of the dog. The younger the dog, the higher the adoption donation except in the case of unneutered or
unspayed puppies and then the donation is reduced because the adopter MUST have the dog altered by 6 months of age.

3. Please don't apply until you are ready to adopt. We can't hold a dog, we try to place dogs as soon as possible so we can save another.
Usually our adoptions take only one to two weeks once an application is received, as long as the dog is all ready to go. There are times
when a dog is listed and not quite ready for some reason, but most often a dog that is listed is ready for adoption.

4. Please list a vet if you have an animal or have had an animal recently. Call that vet and give them permission to talk with us immediately
so we don't have to contact you to have you do that. It slows up the application process and very few vets will give us information without
your giving them permission to do so. If you don't list a vet and personal references, we will not process your application and it will
automatically be denied.

5. If you are not prepared to travel to Homer, NY to pick your adoptive dog up, do not apply. We do not have transport available, we are a very
small rescue with few volunteers. Please use www.mapquest.com to get an idea of the amount of time it will take from your address to
Homer before applying to save us all time if you are not willing to make the trip.

6. Please be advised that we do not approve of any type of electric, underground or invisible fence for dogs less than 50 lbs. No puppy mill
dogs regardless of weight will be adopted to anyone with an underground/invisible fence. Dogs over 50 lbs will be on a case by case
basis. This type of fence may keep some dogs in, but it will never protect your dog from anything getting in. We also do not approve of any
dog being an outside dog. All our dogs will be house dogs and family dogs. If you plan on leaving a dog outside in a dog house or kennel,
please don't apply.

7. Please remember we are all volunteers, we all have families and paying jobs. We do dog rescue because it is our passion and we all
work very hard at it. We are not perfect although we try our very best to do all we can to place as many dogs as possible. Please keep that in
mind and be patient. Thank you for considering a rescue dog! They all need a place to call home and it will turn out to be the best decision
you have ever made! If you have not heard from us within 48 hrs, please send an email to
susan_hubbard@yahoo.com to inquire about
your application.
