Harlow Jean is a little over 2 yrs old
and weighs around 10lbs. She is a
sweet girl, full if energy (as most Jack
Russell's are) and ready to live life to
the fullest. She would do best in an
active home. She loves women and
children, very cautious around men,
she is crate trained. Harlow is
spayed, up to date with shots, and
HW negative. She came from an
Amish puppy mill and then was
abused by her first owner. Thankfully
she was rescued by a very sweet lady
and realized that not all people are
"bad". Apply today, she won't be her
long with her cute little face
Harlow went home to Alissa and Matthew 4/2011 where she will join their 3 cats. Alissa works at a Doggy
Day Care that Harlow is familiar with and has attended so she should be able to go to work with her Mom
which will help her expend some of her energy. She has stayed with Alissa and Matt on weekends before
also so is very happy to be there. We wish them all luck in the future.
UPDATE 1/2012:
Hi Sue,
I am writing to update you about Miss Harlow Jean! There have been a lot of changes in her life, but she is
quite adaptable and resilient! We moved into a new apartment, right around the corner from my parents.
She is absolutely adored by her 'grandma' (my mom) and is the official 'grand-dog' of the family! Harlow is
definitely too smart for her own good and will continue to take advantage of everything and everyone she
can, but she certainly listens well to her parents! She has progressed in so many areas and learns so
very quickly! I have trained to do do many tricks including sitting, staying, laying down, barking on
command, stop barking on command, jumping, giving her paw when asked, and she is learning to roll
over! She has picked up on these tricks so quickly, it amazes me! She has progressed in so many areas
but had regressed in the barking if left home alone department! She has severe anxiety of being alone
and it comes out verbally. We are working with her to allow her to get comfortable staying home alone
without the use of bark collars or other devices. We either take Harlow wherever we go or she will stay with
a 'dog sitter', aka my parents! I can't imagine what she had gone through in her past to be so afraid of
being alone! I have spoken to Caitlyn about Harlow's excessive barking and apparently it has always been
a problem. Harlow has visited Caitlyn and shows no signs of missing her or sadness. Harlow loves her
dad more than anything in the world and snuggles with him at any open opportunity! It took Harlow about
three weeks to fully get comfortable with her feline friends (all she wanted to do was play play play with
them and chase/stalk them when they would hide). Her best friend is Oscar, who initiates play with her
and constantly head butts her and cries to her for loving! Gracie is definitely head of the roost and she lets
it be known to Harlow! Harlow loves loves loves children and submits for them at a drop of a hat! I had my
two year old twin niece and nephew over who were playing with her and putting their fingers in her mouth
and Harlow could care less. She snuggles them and listens to them when they give her a command (I
couldn't believe it!!) I am confident she will be amazing when we have our own children, she reminds me
of 'Nanna' the dog from Peter Pan! I can not imagine my life without Harlow, although she is neurotic to the
bone, she is my angel! Enjoy the pictures!! ~Alissa
