Ebony went home with Kim and James 8/10 where
she will be an only dog. Both Kim and James grew
up with dogs at home, this will be their first dog
together!

Update 8/10:
I wanted to give you an update on Ebony (now called Lily) since I know
you’re missing her. I think she is starting to adjust to the new routine. She’s
doing very well on a leash with the clicker training, and she can “sit” and
“come” and we are working on “stay” and “down,” because she can get jumpy when
excited. She’s good at telling us when she needs to go out, we only had one
accident and that was my fault for not moving fast enough. She is very sweet and
just loves to be around us all the time, following from room to room or hanging
out on the couch. She's definitely a chewer so we're trying to give her as many
toys as possible to see what she likes, besides my slippers!
I do think she really misses the companionship of the other dogs; bedtime seems
to be the hardest. We do not want to let her sleep in bed with us but she is
having a hard time accepting that! We’ve given her a nice soft bed at the foot
of ours, but every night we have to work with her for a half hour or so to stay
there and not jump up. Once she does get to sleep though, she sleeps very well
through the night. I’m also looking to get her into a beginner’s obedience class
in the next few weeks to make sure she stays very socialized. It's definitely an
adjustment for us too, but even though it's only been four days we just adore
