Benjy dog is a 3 year old male Terrier/mix.

He was adopted 8/10 and will now be known as
Dudley which
fits him perfect, went home with Jim and Deborah today. He
will have a sister named Charlie who has about the same
personality as him so we think they will get along perfect.
Dudley came from that awful Robeson shelter and will now
know what love is. Deborah and Jim will give him the life he
deserves!
UPDATE 8/24/10:

Hi Sue,
Thank you for the pictures!  It was great meeting you and please know how much your hard work means to
our hearts - Dudley is settling in very well - he was food aggressive at the first feeding, as Charlie had to
walk over to him and make sure he was getting the same food as she was - so we feed him in the kitchen
and Charlie in the dining room - they can see each other through the gate and all is well - we just make
sure that the food bowls are picked up before we open the gate :) - they have taken water drinks from each
other's water bowls, so it is just the food with Dudley and in time when he understands that he will always
get food in his own bowl, perhaps they can be fed in the same room - aiming for Christmas :) - this
morning, I tested him having his chew bone toy and Charlie having hers and all went well (I stayed in
between them :) - we'll work up to toy sharing between them -

Dudley is eating well and we have had no problems cleaning his ears, putting in the medication and
brushing him -  all he wants to do is lick our face and have his belly rubbed - then, we have to do the same
for Charlie :)

Dudley has already figured out which cupboard holds the treats and Charlie is making sure that whatever
Dudley gets, she gets :) He has been following Charlie around the house and in the back yard, although
sometimes he just likes to take off in the other direction and then run right up to Charlie - Charlie loves it :)
- we have not let him off-leash in the back yard yet and are planning on doing that on Saturday (want to
make sure that he knows his name :)

I caught him marking on the leg of the dining room table on Sunday afternoon, I told him no and have not
seen him doing it inside the house since - of course, outside he is in his glory marking every flower bush
and hemlock tree, and I'm letting him 'go to town' - I'll worry about it next summer, but for now, he is
learning that outside is where he can mark to his heart's content -

I've had no problems with him going in the house - we did run out and get him a larger crate and at night,
not once has he whined - I tell him night night and he lays right down and falls asleep - so far, he is going
through the whole night and taking care of business in the yard when he and Charlie are brought out in
the morning - we also got him a bed, that he lays in after he plays with it with his teeth - again, I say no and
he immediately stops, but I've caught Charlie smiling as if she is encouraging him :)

We took him our vets yesterday for a look-see - we did have him get the lyme shot and I have the pleasure
of bringing in a sample of his poop :) - heading to the Town of Salina in a few minutes to get his license -
he is a very happy dog and has become very attached to me, so I make sure that Charlie is also getting
many hugs - for Jim, it depends on the day - LOL :)

We are so thankful to have Dudley and thank you, again!  We will pick a day to take pictures when it is not
raining and send them your way :)

Deborah
