Hubbards Hounds is a dedicated dog rescue located in upstate New York. Our goal is to save and rehome dogs in need. We take dogs from shelters, puppy mills or owner turn ins. We do not euthanize unless it is medically necessary. Our philisophy is that all dogs are worth saving regardless of age. Our donation fees, which range from $50 to $400, are based on the age of the dog, the younger the dog, the higher the adoption fee. This allows us to vet and care for all the dogs in our care, some of whom need extensive medical care to tend to their needs. We try to balance the dogs in our care so we have some that don't need much in terms of vetting, others that need a lot in terms of vetting. We do this so that all dogs are given the same chance of having a loving family to live out their days, no matter how short they may or may not be. All of our donations (and many times our own money), 100% goes to care of the dogs. All administrative tasks are accomplished by volunteers at no cost to the organization. This is a very dedicated group of volunteers who work non stop to make life better for the dogs in our care.
Our business was formed in March of 2008 by Kimberly Hubbard and Susan Hubbard. We have both belonged to other rescues as volunteers and felt we were ready to branch out and start our own rescue to help dogs in need.
Our philosophy is to work with other rescues such as Puppy Mill Rescue to save dogs. We wish other rescues the best of luck in helping to save these precious dogs.
Check out our site daily, new happenings, new dogs, and great new ideas are always updated at night!
Kimberly Hubbard, along with her husband Jason, lives in Homer, New York and has been a pet lover her whole life. To date, there have been hundreds of dogs that have passed through their house on their way to their forever homes. Kim and Jason have a mixture of permanent "kids" in their homes including a Great Dane, four dachsunds, a chihauhau, and a cocker spaniel. Then there are ALL the foster children who number at any time from 5-20! Kim keeps all dogs that don't have a foster home to go to.
Susan Hubbard, along with her husband Steven, lives in Scott, New York and has also been a pet lover her whole life. Many dogs have passed through this house also on their way to their forever homes. At the moment, Susan has a rescued Pug mix, a rescued Shihtzu and a recued Yorkie as well as a resident cat. Right now there are four fosters: Moe, Scotch, Grayson, and Grady.
